We've got a surprise mid-week update for you all!

• There's been an update on the deal between Microsoft and OpenAI.

Early Monday morning OpenAI, the developers behind the AI phenomena sweeping the globe that are ChatGPT and DALL-E, announced another round of funding from Microsoft in the form of a "multi-year, multi-billion dollar contract." This comes 6 days after Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced via LinkedInthat there would be an implementation of ChatGPT into the Azure OpenAI service, a tool built to help companies integrate AI based services into their websites and workflow.

There are additional AI use-cases for Microsoft outside of Azure like Co-Pilot over on coder paradise Github. Pairing ChatGPT with Co-Pilot, in the words of #Proteus9718 over on the Discord Server, "A force multiplier for coders like no other." Truly exciting times we live in!To add further fuel to this fire, in their post-earnings conference call, Nadella is further quoted as saying "The age of AI is upon us," further reinforcing Microsofts position as a dominant player in the space.

After hours, Microsoft initially rose 5% on the news of an earnings beat but is currently flat at time of writing, likely due to poor fiscal guidance. Credit to Discord Member #USMC3344 for pointing this out, but it would be pretty tone deaf in the age of ESG scores to announce layoffs and good fiscal guidance in the span of a week so who knows how true it is.
